The Young Artist Experience Summer Program will be held at the UBC School of Music and the Old Auditorium, located on the beautiful campus of the University of British Columbia. The Aquatic Centre, Anthropology Museum, TRIUMP Lab, Nitobe Gardens and book store are all a short walking distance from the School of Music. The UBC School of Music, opened in 1968 as a part of an arts complex that includes separate buildings for the Departments of Theatre, Film and Fine Arts, and the School of Architecture. The Music Building houses lecture and seminar rooms, practice rooms, teaching studios, performance and rehearsal space, a library and listening rooms, an electroacoustic music studio, an electronic class piano installation and recording facilities. The Recital Hall, which seats 289, is considered the best hall in the city from an acoustical standpoint, providing an ideal ambiance for solo and chamber music concerts.
